توفي طبيب جراح يبلغ من العمر 67 عاما، في الساعات الأولى من صباح الجمعة، داخل المستشفى الجهوي بطنجة، إثر تعرضه لسكتة قلبية مفاجئة أثناء خضوعه لتدبير الحراسة النظرية، على خلفية التحقيقات الجارية في قضية تتعلق بالإجهاض غير المشروع.
وكان الطبيب الموقوف قد اعتقل قبل أيام من داخل عيادته الخاصة بمدينة العرائش، في إطار بحث قضائي فتحته المصالح الأمنية بعد تسجيل حالة وفاة لفتاة يشتبه في أنها خضعت لعملية إجهاض سري، وذلك بعد تناولها أقراصا محظورة.
وتشير المعلومات الأولية إلى أن الأبحاث التي باشرتها الشرطة القضائية بتنسيق بين طنجة والعرائش، أسفرت عن توقيف ممرضة يشتبه في وساطتها بين الطبيب والضحايا، حيث أفضت التحقيقات إلى الاشتباه في الطبيب كمصدر رئيسي لتوفير مواد طبية يحظر تداولها خارج الأطر القانونية.
الطبيب الراحل كان يعد من الوجوه المعروفة في الساحة الطبية بمدينة العرائش، حيث مارس المهنة لعدة عقود قبل أن يجد نفسه محور قضية أثارت اهتمام الرأي العام المحلي، عقب تدهور الوضع الصحي لامرأة حامل نُقلت إلى المستشفى في حالة حرجة بعد تعاطيها لأقراص مشبوهة.
وقد تم فتح تحقيق قضائي بأمر من النيابة العامة المختصة، لتحديد ظروف وملابسات هذه القضية، مع مواصلة التحريات لتحديد باقي المتورطين المحتملين.
