قال أحمد الباوري، وزير الفلاحة والصيد البحري والتنمية القروية والمياه والغابات، إن تراجع القطيع الوطني بسبب الجفاف قد دفع الحكومة إلى اتخاذ إجراءات استثنائية لتغطية العجز في اللحوم، من بينها استيراد كميات كبيرة من الأبقار واللحوم.
حيث سجلت الوزارة استيراد 21,800 رأس من الأبقار و124,000 رأس من الأغنام و704 أطنان من اللحوم الحمراء حتى يوم أمس.
وأوضح الوزير أن الحكومة قد علّقت رسوم الاستيراد وأعفت من الضريبة على القيمة المضافة، بالإضافة إلى زيادة وتيرة الاستيراد لتلبية الطلب المتزايد.
