سجل ميندونسا هدف البرتغال الأول في الدقيقة الثانية، وأضاف كويلو هدفين في الدقائق 19 و22، قبل أن يقلص سفيان المسرار الفارق للمنتخب الوطني في الدقيقة 34، وسجل زيكي الهدف الرابع للبرتغال قبل نهاية المباراة بلحظات قليلة.
المنتخب الوطني كان قد ضمن تأهله لدور ثمن النهائي، عقب اننصاره في المباراة الأولى أمام منتخب طاجيكستان 4/2 ثم أمام منتخب باناما بنتيجة 6/3.
رفقاء أنس العيان، سيكونون على موعد مع مواجهة متصدر المجموعة السادسة (فرنسا أو إيران)، خلال مباراة دور ثمن النهائي.
