شهدت أسعار زيت الزيتون ارتفاعاً كبيراً في عدة مدن مغربية، حيث وصل سعر اللتر إلى 120 درهماً، بسبب نقص الأمطار والجفاف.
وصرّح أحد المهنيين بأن العديد من التعاونيات الفلاحية في مناطق قلعة السراغنة وبني ملال رفعت سعر اللتر بمقدار 20 درهماً، نتيجة تراجع الإنتاج المحلي.
وأضاف أن الفلاحين يترقبون هطول الأمطار في الأشهر المقبلة، لما لها من دور مهم في تحسين إنتاجية الزيتون.
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن زراعة الزيتون تتركز في خمس جهات بالمغرب، حيث تُنتج 38% في جهة فاس مكناس، و22% في جهة مراكش-آسفي، و10% في جهة بني ملال خنيفرة، و10% في جهتي طنجة تطوان الحسيمة والشرق.
ولمواجهة النقص في الأسواق المحلية، لجأ المغرب إلى استيراد زيت الزيتون من دول أوروبية لتعويض هذا العجز.
